Cancer is my worst enemy.  I can't make it go away.  It continues to hurt others and challenge so many.  It took my best friend.  It has taken other loved ones.  It has taken many I have not met.  I hate cancer.

The only choice I have when dealing with this enemy of mine, is to fight back the one way I know how - help others dealing with it and help educate.

I challenge all of you to share the information below with one person and challenge them to do the same.

Many of you may know my love for animals.  If you read the blog, I am hopeful you have picked up on that.  This love comes from my mother.  She is an animal whisperer and takes in any and every animal out there (As do some of her siblings)...

Last year at school a student approached me and shared the Cabbit with me. I was so excited!  A cat and a rabbit cross - AMAZING!  

I've been sharing the story with many others along the way.  A week ago I shared this interesting animal with a friend and here is his take...

I am a believer and know there is a Cabbit out there for me.  Look at those eyes... :)

It is my pleasure to introduce the 2013 Joe Vogel "Pay it Forward" Scholarship Recipient - Jennifer Beranek.  Jennifer is a Cotter student who demonstrates the "Pay it Forward" way in her everyday life.

I received a kind note from Jennifer today.  In the note she states - "I want the scholarship to ultimately be given to a classmate".  This makes me smile for so many reasons.  Joe has touched so many lives and taught many of us how to live for the day and help others.

Congrats Jennifer and thank you for being you.

Here are the details about the scholarship and what students had to do to apply...

A big thank you to all on the scholarship committee - you do an amazing job every year.  I truly appreciate your time.

As promised last blog...  Here are some of the moments captured at the 3rd Annual Team Vogel vs Cancer Bowling Tournament.  Moments of fun, moments of great form, moments of celebration, and moments of young and old...

So - it just so happens the winning team this year happens to be the one team that intermixed with another team for their photo :).

Saturday was amazing.  As I sat back and watched the first two bowling shifts, all I could do was smile.  There was laughter - smiles - and fun being had by all. It continues to amaze me...  

At one point during the 7 pm shift, I looked to my left and 7 lanes of bowlers were participating in the fun frames and I just smiled.  7 teams bowling between all of their teammates legs - unbelievable!  

I can't thank everyone enough for continuing to embrace Team Vogel and keeping Joe's Dream alive.  Thank you for helping me continue to believe.

A big thank you to Brad for all his efforts in coordinating this event - Brad you do an amazing job.  

To Julie, Jim and all at Westgate and Wellington's - Thank you for the best serve and kindness you showed us.  

And to everyone who came - THANK YOU.  I had a wonderful time and that is because of all of you.
