Fun Times...The Loggers Event...and Relay for Life Info and Luminaria Bags

Fun Times...

Summer is a busy season for all.  A little of this to do - sunny weather to take in - vacations to go on - fundraisers to attend...  The past few weeks I've had the opportunity to kick back and enjoy the company of many.

A Twins game with a great crew and many familiar faces...

Try to bring some luck in the bottom of the 9th... Our rally glasses and caps did not do the trick.
It was my first game of the season and a true blast.  Thank you for the invitation Jeff and Katie - and thanks for driving / finishing the crew Bradley.

After an adventure to the ballpark - I stretched a bit and geared up for the Murphy Golf Outing.  We may not look like professional golfers - but we have mean swings - great toe nails - and we had one heck of a time.

The Loggers...

The Loggers Game was another success.  Thank you to everyone who joined the Team and supported Gundersen Lutheran's Strike Out Colon Cancer Event.  It is sometimes hard attending this event - and I can occasionally be a bit grumpy...but for me, that is all the more reason I need to go.  Increasing knowledge about colon cancer - encouraging screening - and informing others...will lead to prevention / early detection.

As we arrived to load the bus last Thursday, I looked around and took in all in attendance...   There were new faces mixed in with old - but smiles on all.  Thank you to everyone who took part in the event.  A special thank you to Katie D. for all you efforts in helping organize this.

What would an event be without a few moments captured...

Cost -
Tickets - $5
Bus Ride - $10
(Bus will leave JC Penney parking lot at 5:30)

Fishing 101
This past weekend, I was invited up to the Kosidowski cabin to do a little fishing, hanging out, sun tanning, tubing, some eating and much, much more...  This year was all about fishing - the first night out we caught a bunch of fish and I finally took a fish off the hook without a glove on :)  Joe would have been proud of me, for when we used to fish together (about once a year) I was always in charge of taking the fish off the hook.

It was truly a fun week full of laughter - relaxation and hanging out with the Kosidowski's - a great group I might add.  Thank you for having me!

I soon got the hang of taking the fish off. Every animal needs some tough love.

Let the flaying begin...(I will tackle this one next year).

The back will have - don't stop believin'
I'm pretty excited for these shirts - I think Mr. Hubbard may be more excited though...   He is getting one of each - he says they are collectors items :).

...and Craft Camp

The 2nd year of Craft Camp is coming to an end...

Last year - my good friend from college...my "art soul sister"...and I invented Craft Camp.  We wanted to go on a camping trip - but the heat was too much.  So, we brought the week indoors - sewing machines and fabric instead of sleeping bags and campfires.

It was a blast and this year was even more amazing.  The weather proved to be just as hot as last year - I hope all of you were able to stay cool.

Craft Camp 2012...
Picture
The first campers arrived Thursday afternoon. We welcome all - 2 legs, 4 legs, we even had one with more legs...they weren't really welcome...
Picture
The next camper arrived on Friday afternoon - she spent many hours creating this masterpiece...20 hours on one apron :)
Picture
Suitcases of fabric filled the room with the hum of sewing machines.
Picture
I promise I was not attempting brain surgery - just trying to figure out where the decoration should be on a headband.
Picture
The 4-legged campers were more interested in photography than anything...Frita felt this was her best angle (or she was just trying to stay cool).
Picture
We made sure to stay hydrated...
Picture
I actually made a couple purses...
Picture
...and Zoe showed off a new weave.
Thank you to all the campers for an amazing weekend...Refreshing for the spirit to create.

Off to finish a purse here and a book.

Hugs - Rach
