Golf Outing - Full

I just got word today that there are 36 teams signed up for the Team Vogel Golf Outing - AMAZING.  Now we just need the sun to shine and the course to dry out.

If you are not signed up and interested - please do not hesitate to contact Jeff.  He will create a waiting list and fill in teams if an opening comes about.

Just a quick note...

Many of us do not need reminders to live life to the fullest, embrace the ones we love, and be kind to all (we have no idea the path they walk).

I am reminded of this today, after reading a blog written by one of the most courageous ladies I know.  When her battle seems like a mountain - she walks one step at a time and reaches out to others.  We do not always have a choice in the cards we are dealt, but we do have a choice in how we play them and react to them.  It is ok to hate your card - have a moment...  but in the end the one choice we have is to make the best of it.

Baseball...

Baseball season is in full swing and I feel completely uneducated.  While taking in my first game of the season on Saturday - I realized I hardly know the team this year...  Not only am I feeling uneducated this year on who is on the team...  I am heartbroken.

I've had a few favorite players along the way.  Cuddyer...  Span...  I felt I had a connection with these gentleman.  (OK - maybe I just thought they were good looking men.)  As I remembered the good-old times with my boys in the outfield, I was drawn to another situation in left field...
Picture
You may be looking at this photo and wondering what the situation is...

Well as the game went on - I noticed the left fielder always made his way to the discolored box on the field.  Reflecting on the discolored square - I really believe this would have made me a better athlete back in the day.  Why don't more coaches lay out the boundaries of where they expect athletes to play.  Had my coaches done this  - I am confident I would have caught many more fly balls in the outfield - I would have always been in the right position - and I would have been way more on task...
Picture
Maybe it is just a fluke...  Maybe the coaches did not make him a box.  Whatever the case - it made the four of us smile and laugh at the game every time my new favorite player - Josh Willingham -  went to his box.

Although it was not ideal baseball weather - the four of us bundled up and enjoyed a game.

...and Seriously - the Weather.

It doesn't pay to complain about the weather.  I will dream of warmer lands...

Hoping this nasty stuff will stop falling from the sky.

Cheers to a fabulous week - may we see the sunshine at least one day.

Fools Five and Upcoming Events

Fools Five Race

We loaded up the family car this afternoon - mom, dad, sister, niece and myself and headed to the 35th annual Fools Five in Lewiston.  The weather was perfect for running and my running partners were in good spirits...One may have been concerned with her lack of training but she made it (That's the stubborn Salisbury - Majeski in her...)

It is sometimes hard to face things that bring back memories - the first run Joe and I did together...seeing him stand with the other survivors...

But this year the fun of the run came back.  I completed it with two of my favorite gals - my sister and my niece.  We did it together and we all finished.  New memories are made to happen.  It doesn't mean you forget the old - you embrace them tighter and cherish the opportunity to make new ones.

The race begins... It was amazing looking back and seeing people for blocks.
