From Caring Bridge to Team Vogel

It is hard to believe that two weeks have gone by since I was sitting at your side.  With each day – I miss you more and more.  This is a pain I can’t explain.  The one thing I want, I cannot have.  In the 7 years we were together, the longest I went without seeing you was 7 days (and even then I talked to you 8 times everyday).  Although there are good moments, even good hours…part of me is gone…that part is you.

Alright, time to turn the mood here…So, I am a big believer in sings and dreams.  I have been hoping to dream of Joe every night, but I haven’t remembered a dream yet.  I know if anyone can let us know they are out there with us, it is Joe.  So today my sign came.  I went to spend some time with Joe at the cemetery this evening and when Zoe and I pulled up – there was a buck standing by Joe’s grave.  Joe was my “trophy buck” for Halloween a couple years back (I went as the hunter and Joe went as my buck).  I know many of you have had your experiences and I would love to hear them.  You can select comment – and then leave a message, just like on caring bridge.  I cherish your experiences too.

Time for a couple Team Vogel reminders –

Saturday, August 21st at 8am The Goodview Gallop will be happening.  All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.  If you need any last min. information – please email us at teamvogel@hotmail.com .  I am looking forward to seeing the sea of red.

Sunday, August 22nd at 12:30pm – We will be lining up for the Goodview Days Parade.  Joe and Team Vogel were asked to be the Grand Marshal.  We will be #8 in the parade line-up and meeting on 36th Ave. (between 5th and 6th St.) – in Goodview.  Please know – EVERYONE is welcome.  Wear your Team Vogel shirts…a Red T-shirt…or just clothes.  If you wish to bring a bag of candy to throw as we walk – please do.

Well – I hope this blog works for all of you – please send me any feedback about the site or the blogging.  I appreciate all comments, good or bad.  You can email them to teamvogel@hotmail.com .

Love – Rachel

Rachel,

You don't know me, but my boyfriend Robb was on your kickball team for the fund raiser and I hung out in the "dug out" while you guys played. I also happen to work at Winona Agency with Brooke and Mary Jo.

You are amazing and strong. That is so awesome about the buck, I believe it was a sign from Joe.

God bless and I hope you see more signs!

Tara

I also visited Joe at the graveside last week. I said to Joe to please show me a sign that your okay. Well as we left and got back on mankato I looked and there was a huge rainbow. Also I know that Joe was with me through my surgery and everything. This morning I felt a hand caressing my foot- I figured it was dad comming into the room waking me up but nobody was there- I just smile and said " Hey Joe" - missing you so much brother i love you. Happy Birthday Rach love you too!

I too have had a sign from my brother. For some reason, I rolled over in bed and was about to fall off the bed when my brother caught me. It's hard to explain, but he wss there.

Hi Rachel,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family and Joe's family. Joe and all of you are very strong people. It's very hard to lose a loved one. I think of all of you often. My prayers are with you.

Hi Rachel, The love that Joe had for you can never be replaced, time will help but do continue looking for the signs because I am a firm believer that he is visiting everyday! When we lost my father-in-law in Oct. we told him to be very obvious when he came to visit, after about a week our t.v. would come on in the garage to the nascar channel every sunday! What was so strange and that we knew it was him is that our t.v. only would turn on to channel 2, you had to push the channels to make them go to a different channel and it would always be on the race(he loved watching the nascar races with Kurt). After the nascar season was over we would see different signs of him. Just as I know Wayne is ok, I also feel Joe is doing ok in heaven!! Take Care!

Hi Rachel,

I've been thinking a lot about you, hoping you were doing okay. I think the buck was a sign :) I think there are signs all around us- just some are not overly obvious. There is no question about it- Joe is with you, watching over you-and still loving you :)

I'm not sure if you have heard or not- I know it's not MY exciting news to share exactly-but I'm telling it anyways!! Troy went in for his PET scan...he is cancer FREE! They are going to do one more round of chemo, and possibly radiation- but he's cancer FREE! Think Joe had a hand in that!? :)

Hey Rach, just checking in to see how you are doing...I love the new site, it is amazing how you stay so upbeat and strong and I totally admire that in you. You are really keeping your promise, you should be so proud of yourself, like I am of you! Anyway, on a lighter and more fun note, I have some more ideas for some bags I need you to make when you get time...Birthday season is coming up for my family as well as xmas and have a ton of gifts I want to give. I have most of the fabric for the thing I would like you to make but if you have anymore twins shirts, I know my mom would love a purse kinda like the one you made for Amber. I should say either or would be fine...Let me know when we can talk or email when you get a free second...I know you are probably busy...Also, Miss vadyn is going to be a year old already in November and I would love a new Muddy Hands hat made for her. Obviously the others have been too small for a while. Let me know about that also. Take care Rach and know you are in my thoughts EVERYDAY! Have fun this weekend, I am not sure we will make it, we are out of town camping...

Mary and I would like to thank all the Team Vogel members who participated in the parade yesterday. WOW what a sea of red!!! We very much appreciate your support and hope the team continues to grow. Joe taught us that one person can make a difference and a team of people can make wonderful things happen!!!!! We have the ability to help others dealing with cancer and let them know that there is a team of people behind them. Cancer is evil but we are going to conquer it with LOVE. Thanks again.

Rach,

The day of my Dad's funeral, we hung around until most people left the cemetary, much like we did a couple of weeks ago. My Dad is right up on the hill behind Joe, so they get to overlook that beautiful view as well as keep an eye on all of us.

Anyway, my cousin had died several years earlier and always had a penchant for bald eagles. My father thought they were very majestic animals as well. So as we stood there, crying and staring at the beatuiful overlook of sugarloaf and the town, two bald eagles circled over the top of us until we left the cemetary and went back to the church.

We all love you, and we'll see you soon.

Adam

My sign from Joey came while watching the Vikings and 49ers pregame. As NBC cut to commercial they played Don't Stop Believin' I text little man right away and said, well bud we know Joey's watching.

Hey Rach! So I don't know if you heard. But last Wednesday I had a double header for softball and it's only our second set of games for fall ball so we don't have our jerseys yet- so I decided to wear my Team Vogel shirt! And I was in left field and usually maybe one or two get hit to me. (most get hit to center) We played the same to teams we played the week before and I did not get that much action. But I had probably close to ten pop flies and balls come to me. The girl that plays next to me is kind of the star of the team- and she was getting bored because I was getting all the action. So for one inning we switched spots. Another pop fly right in my area. So that same inning right center asked if I wanted to switch. Two outs... I told her after this pitch. We switched the next pitch a pop fly to me- I caught it to end the inning. We lost by one run the first game and a couple the second game. The girl next to me made a comment about the ball coming to me where ever I was playing. I think it was a sign for sure! I am gonna test it out this Wednesday! :) I think of Joe often and that was pretty cool.

I like to take care of my health, both physical and mental. To avoid deficiencies, I had to adopt a balanced diet and above all use a specific food supplement. It is on this article that I found the product that allowed me to relive and enjoy optimal well-being without health concerns.
