People We Admire...
I had the honor today to speak with a group of students (5th and 6th grade) about Team Vogel and the importance of helping others... "Paying it Forward". Before I shared anything about Team Vogel, I asked the students to think about someone they admire and why... Their responses were varied but so heart felt. Their eyes got big and you could see the love they felt for the individual they shared.
I know my expression is the same when I share who I admire... I admire Joe Vogel for his willingness to help others and give back when he could have easily shut down. His generous heart that has touched so many of us - and continues to each day. Joe not only do you live on in many of us - today you live on in 15 kids who heard your story and are excited to help "Pay it Forward".

Rummage Sale...
Please join us - RAIN or SHINE - on Friday for our first Team Vogel Rummage Sale. All proceeds from the sale will go to Team Vogel. There are many treasures stacking up in my office as I type this - so it will definitely be worth your time to stop by. We have furniture - exercise equipment - clothing - picture frames and MUCH MORE. Invite your family - friends and neighbors to stop by Central Elementary (317 Market St.) from 8 am - 2 pm. If the rain decides to make an appearance - we will be in the gym.
Bake Sale...
As the big fundraiser draws near, it is time to put a note out to all the bakers out there. If you are interested and able to make an item for our bake sale we would be very grateful. Please email Mary Vogel at [email protected] if you are planning to bake an item for Saturday, June 29th. We are asking that all bake goods be dropped off at the Jaycee Pavilion on Saturday morning around 7:30 am.

Cornhole...
There are still spots open for the cornhole tournament. Grab a partner - stretch a little and sign up for an afternoon of fun and bag tossing. For more information on the tournament - click HERE. Each participant in the tournament will aslo receive a free meal ticket for a hot dog, brat, or hamburger meal. If you are a last moment type of person - stop on down Saturday morning to sign up. We will begin filling the remaining openings on Saturday at 10 am (first come - first to get in the tournament basis.)
No Kickball...
We will not be having a kickball tournament this year. My apologies go out to the kickball lovers who signed up a team - with the lack of interest we decided it is best to cancel. (Maybe cornhole could be your new thing...) We hope to offer a new adventure next year for the active individuals out there. We are thinking maybe Co-Ed Sand Volleyball... Please email [email protected] with other suggestions / ideas.
Parade.
We are still searching for parade walkers. If you are up for walking in the Steamboat Days Parade on Sunday - we would truly appreciate your support. The candy is purchased (and sampled) - ready to be tossed carefully to parade watchers and many flyers are ready to be handed to share Team Vogel with the communtiy. The parade kicks off at 12:30 - if you are interested and willing - please email Amanda Weifenbach at [email protected] for all details.
