Surviving and Embracing Moments...

The holidays can leave you feeling like a chicken with your head cut off.  I find myself running in circles...accomplishing nothing.  I keep thinking of all the things I want to complete - presents to be made - places to be - call this person - need to stop here...

As I see things spinning out of control, I remind myself to step back and take life in smaller pieces.  I remind myself to enjoy the moment I'm in and stop dreading what needs to be done or has not been completed.  (Often easier said than done...)

Last night I was in the company of great friends, family and strangers (that I would now consider friends too).  I was able to embrace the moment and celebrate the marriage of two amazing people.  The love, laughter and fun that was shared was truly a fun time.  And...We all got to wear skinny jeans, boots and puffy coats!

As I was driving home this morning - my brain was once again in high gear...  need to get here, do this, try and stop there...I pulled into the post office to grab my mail and I was taken back.  There was a letter and donation from Altura Christmas Tea Committee.  I'm still speechless and thankful for their kind donation to Team Vogel.  Thank you does not seem like enough...  I hope you know how appreciative we are - to you - and to all who embrace the  "Pay it Forward" way and help Joe's dream live on.  Thank you - Thank you - Thank you!

I also took a moment to open all the Christmas cards that waited.  I love getting Christmas cards.  I like seeing pictures of families as they grow.  I enjoy reading the notes / letters that accompany them too.

When life spins at an uncomfortable pace - hold tight to the moments that matter and accomplish what you can.

I hope many of you will be able to join us for the Team Vogel vs Cancer Kick-off on Monday, January 7th - 2013.

A huge thank you to Jeff and Jason for all your organizing.  You guys are amazing!

Adventures with Zoe...

My darling Zoe.  My best friend.  The one that seems to find every burr in the area to get stuck in her ears...

Miss Zoe  loves to be outside, run through the brush - chase the ball...  I was outside last Saturday, trying to give some medicine to the farm cats and in walked this wonderful treat...

Ummm - Mom... There seems to be something in my ears. They won't move. Am I going to make it?

This close-up shows some of the burrs...It really doesn't do this situation justice. There were burrs everywhere!

The freed burrs and Zoe's hair that had to be clipped.

Miss Zoe - free of burrs but wondering what the heck happened to the hair on her ear. I chuckle at this picture for Zoe's hair cut reminds me of the many barbies I tried to give haircuts to...I could and still can't ever get it even...

...and Ornament Reminder.

Last but not least - if you are still interested in purchasing a Team Vogel Christmas Ornament, there is still time and a selection left.

Before I sign off - remember to embrace the small things and enjoy the moment.  Sometimes we have to step...

Sending a hug -
Rach
