It has been a busy weekend. And I am excited to announce – the Families have been selected for the 2011 Team Vogel vs Cancer Fundraiser. It breaks my heart to hear the stories and journeys each family is taking on, but their strength shines through!
Strength is my word for the Fool’s Five this year too. Strength in numbers, support, working towards a common goal and the strength it took for many to complete the race. It is always overwhelming to be a part of this event. This year was tough – for the first time when they ask all the racers who have not battled cancer to take a knee – I didn’t get to see Joe standing beside me. He was definitely there though – Team Vogel will always be there.
Website – We updated the website and changed some things around to make the navigation a little easier. You can now place your arrow over the main menu items and a drop down menu will appear. Please email us– if you can’t find anything – at [email protected]. Thank you to Miss Biggs for all her help with this – she has had to deal with me a lot.
Cemetery – I know many people go out to visit Joe and love to leave him things. Please continue to do so. I just need to let you know, the cemetery staff did post a note in church bulletins that things will be removed. I do not know the exact wording, but basically we can have one plant hanger…I just want to let people know. I understand where the cemetery is coming from, but this is a tough thing – things that are left there mean a lot to people. So, please do as you see fit but understand the things may be removed. I am trying to think of a creative way to use that one hook to the fullest :).
Golf Outing – The Golf Outing is FULL. Thank you to everyone who has signed up and supported this new event. If you are still interested in golfing, we are considering an Early Bird Tee Time from 7am – 8am. If you would like more information on this – please email Jeff at [email protected].
One last thank you to the Team Vogel Board for always being there to help plan, provide advice and step to the plate. Thank you!
I hope everyone has a great week.
Love - Rach
